1 1/2 cups shredded Silani Mozzarella cheese (try our pre-shredded or shred a Silani Mozzarella block)
1/4 cup grated Silani parmesan cheese
Olive oil
2 cups marinara sauce
1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, oregano, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper.
2. Flatten about 2 tbsp of the meat mixture with your hand and place 1-2 tsp of shredded Silani Mozzarella in the center. Next, gently form the meatball around the cheese, sealing the edges so that the cheese stays inside.
3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and carefully add the meatballs, frying until cooked through and browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Cook in batches if necessary.
4. Once the meatballs are browned, transfer them to a saucepan with marinara sauce. Simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes, ensuring the meatballs are fully cooked and the Mozzarella inside has melted.
5. You’re done! Serve the Mozzarella-stuffed meatballs over pasta, as a meatball sandwich, or with a side of garlic bread.
